The importance of money in my life

This blog is about the importance of money in my life. good as the saying "money does not make happiness, only helps" to me this is a reality, because poor people are much more difficult to be happy all the time because they have to worry about basic issues that people have a little more money, because the poorest people have to worry about having to eat and have a good quality of health. But for people who have a little more money, everything is easier, because everything is more accessible, does not have to worry about the food, or the eternal waiting in public hospitals.

For my money is important, because I can do whatever I want, and spend it with my friends and have a good holiday.

Thanks to the money in my house lacks nothing, and thanks to that my sisters and I can have a good education and good health.

Thanks to money there are more amenities and more to make life easier for people, sometimes even that is not necessary, for example, I do not agree with people who spend money unnecessarily buying clothes, or buying the latest model cell or many TVs.

I have also met many parts of Chile and have traveled to Mexico and Argentina on vacation with my family. I think the latter is what I like the money, I can find many places in the world and I can have a good holiday with my family or with my friends.

Hobbies

I love do many things, like read an interesting book, listening my favorite music, spend the time with my friends or with my boyfriend, go to a parties, play wideo games or watch television simply. But one of my favorites hobbies is play the piano. 

I've always loved music and I've always liked the instruments. Then, when I was about 15 years, I wanted to play an instrument and my parents gave me a guitar for my birthday, but it never learned to play guitar, because I think it's so difficult. But a couple of years ago, for Christmas my parents gave to my little sister a keyboard, so I started to learn some easy songs. After a while I began to play classical music, and some songs of Mozart or Beethoven, because when I was a child my mom put me classical music to fall asleep, I really did not like it, because I thought that classical music was very slow and boring, but now I love it.

I've never had a teacher who teach me to play piano, I learned to play piano watching videos from youtube, for that reason I don't know to read a music book. .

I know only a few songs, because I need time to play and a lot of concentration to play a whole song.

I think I'll take piano lessons when I'll have 60 years old  and can spend all my time doing anything.

University v/s School

First of all the most important difference between the school and the university is the closeness that existed between school and my home, and the long distance between the university and this.

When I was in school I wake up at 7 am. and in 5 minutes I was in school. But now, in college I wake up at 6.20 am and the trip takes about 1 hour.

Another difference closely related to the above, it is the responsibility I have now to be on time and be fully responsible for attending classes in order to comply with the subject.

The third difference I see between the two experiences is that now I have given more importance when and how to organize, and now I have to plan my days in order to fulfill all my obligations. The responsibility of the studies I have now, at school did not exist. Now I have to dedicate myself entirely to the study, what school never did. This also affects bedtime, because now I study more than before and I sleep less. This creates stress, which never happened before

Also the relationship with my friends has changed, because now there is not much time to spend my time with them, also the priorities of each of us has changed. And finally, what else has changed in these two stages is that now I value my free time, because now I can spend it as I want it.

My presentation Topic: Earthquakes

The topic of my presentation it is about earthquakes and how these affect the whole world and especially how these affect in Chile. 

I choose this topic because I found a really interesting and serves me as a student of geography, to understand the dynamics of earthquakes.

In the presentation I am going to speak about earthquakes formation and earthquakes in Chile in the whole detected history. 

Also I will talk about how we can prevent certain risks that may occur before or after an earthquake.

Earthquakes can be so tremendously destructive; it’s hard to imagine they occur by the thousands every day around the world, usually in the form of small tremors.

Some 80 percent of all the planet's earthquakes occur along the rim of the Pacific Ocean, called the "Ring of Fire" because of the preponderance of volcanic activity there as well. Most earthquakes occur at fault zones, where tectonic plates collide or slide against each other. These impacts are usually gradual. 

Scientists assign a magnitude rating to earthquakes based on the strength and duration of their seismic waves. 

On average, a magnitude 8 quake strikes somewhere every year and many people die in earthquakes annually. Collapsing buildings claim by far the majority of lives, but the destruction is often compounded by mud slides, fires, floods, or tsunamis. 

Loss of life can be avoided through emergency planning, education, and the construction of buildings that sway rather than break under the stress of an earthquake.

Why I decided to study geography

I have liked geography since I was at school, that is my impression. I always found interesting Chile’s and world’s geography. It always attracted me to know about the land and its formation, about the different climates and landscapes.

Before I could decide studying any career, I thought in the fact that I wanted to spend my whole life working at something different than others. I didn’t want to work in a box. 

When I got the PSU results, I didn't know what career was for me. So I looked for information about different careers in different universities, and I found a few interesting ones, including anthropology, archeology and geography. 

When I started looking for information about careers, I realized that geography was the most interesting and more dynamic one, because it included physical and social sciences. 

So I went to visit the University of Chile, where the career is provided. I spoke with other students of geography and they told me enough about it.

Once inside, I realized that geography was the career I was looking for. And I hope when I finish my studies, I could work as a geographer.

By the time, I like geography because it is very entertaining and there is a lot of fieldwork. Also, I can help to take care of Earth by creating new ways of environmental care.

Finally, I can say that I really don't know why and when I decided to study this, but what I really know is in this moment I am really happy I decided to study geography.
